  • EDS / Phoenix (Financial Services)

  • Managed a geographically dispersed team to implement Infrastructure components of a new Administrative application, including the deployment and implementation of 12 WebSphere and DB2 (UDB) Sun Solaris servers, with XML Interfaces. Result: This new system will allow Phoenix to deliver new products to market that were prohibitively expensive using their existing infrastructure.
  • Northeast Utilities (Utilities)

  • Managed a 100-person $16.5 MM project to align CL&P hardware, software and human assets with identified Business Strategies to accurately update the existing Geospatial Information System (GIS) with field assets. Standardized & documented business processes for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance reports. Results: Business unit now interfaces effectively with IT; Delivered project through Pilot phase and successfully negotiated several change orders, within the excepted budget and timeframe.
  • Nestle Waters (Marketing, Consumer Products)

  • Aligned data warehouse development with defined Business Strategies to cut operating costs and identify new customer segments. By negotiating Senior Management support, identified Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that drive market segmentation and penetration strategies. Developed work schedules, resource allocations, quality standards, and project oversight processes. Result: Accelerated project status from Red (halted) status to Green (on track with no issues), within the same timeframe and budget.
  • Reinsurance Group of America (Reinsurance)

  • Managed on-shore and off-shore resources to deploy a $36 MM Reinsurance application development project to 5 continents. Developed the company’s project management excellence, work scheduling, resource allocation, and project oversight. Result: Delivered the project to 5 continents and 20 time zones within the time and cost constraints.

    1997 - 2002- COMSYS Information Technology Services
    Senior Project Manager - Managed and directed multiple major projects, mentored younger project managers, responsible for multi-million dollar budgets, managed teams of 5 to 25 with 3 to 6 project manager direct reports.
  • Managed the supply chain management, inventory control and credit card processing reengineering effort for a Fortune 300 pharmaceutical company that will lower the cost to fill prescriptions by maintaining tighter inventory control, increasing automation, and enabling better reporting. Result: Cost savings are estimated at $6,000,000 per year.
  • While completing a project with a pharmaceutical client, I found additional opportunities to leverage our capabilities. Result: These efforts raised revenue with this client from $120,000 to a run rate of $1,684,000 per year.
  • Took over a struggling strategic project for a Financial Services company that was 6 months behind schedule and at 193% of the original budget. Reset budget and time expectations, and refocused the project on the original requirements and goals. Result: The project was completed within the new expectations and to the complete satisfaction of the client.
  • Managed a 12-person team that conducted an evaluation and remediation of 250 computers for a large, Ireland-based pharmaceutical company. Result: Increased revenue from this customer 6-fold.
  • Consulted with a client to validate a series of projects with one of their project managers. Ascertained client's project standards and evaluated projects accordingly. Made recommendations to bring projects into compliance and to communicate these standards to the rest of the IT organization. Result: Increased adherence to standards in client's project management practice.

    1993 - 1997- Maritz/Analysts International
    Senior Project Manager - Managed a team that developed a cellular phone call center system. The system performed Order Entry, Order Processing, Lead Allocation, Dealer Locator, Call Tracking (CMS), Inventory Control and Fulfillment functions for eight separate clients. The system initially handled 10,000 leads and fulfilled 50,000 units per month. The system included on-line methods and procedures, reports, documentation and maintenance applications.
  • Managed an Internet based system (www.goldmail.com) that paid users to read advertisements. The system budget was $1,192,000. Result: Development finished 22.5% ahead of budget, by creative utilization of available resources and was deployed on the Internet as scheduled. This was one of the earliest commercial sites deployed on the Internet.
  • Took over failing project for a Fortune 5 automotive client that was losing customer confidence, replaced the Project Manager, worked with project team members to determine and implement the best courses of corrective action. Result: The product was delivered and deployed on schedule.
  • Reengineered a test group to utilize an RDMS to track information for their smaller clients. Result: This increased efficiency (as measured by tasks accomplished over time) by 23% for this group. This model was replicated throughout the numerous workgroups in this operating company.
